Trip to Indianapolis
At the beginning of last week Julianne and I took a trip to Indiana to see my Uncle, Aunt, and cousins that live in Indy. My mom and grandma were also visiting so we got to visit with lots of family. On Monday we had fun swimming and then roasted hot dogs, brats, and marshmallows over the fire pit. On Tuesday Julianne and I went to the library with my aunt, Melissa, and cousin, Mady. After that we had a yummy lunch at "Bee-yay"(Chick Fil A) and then headed to the Children's Museum. It was the neatest museum I probably have ever been to. I'm not sure what that says about me since it is intended for children. Everything was hands on and there was so much that there was no way we could have seen in all in one afternoon, but we did our best.
Julianne loved the dinosaur exhibit and in this area they have a place to dig for fossils. The kids actually scrape this rock looking stuff off of the "bones". Julianne refused to keep her goggles on so she was not allowed in that area. Julianne's favorite place by far was the area for kids 5 and under. They had a huge water table, a sand table, an obstacle course, a play house, a tree house, a transportation area, and many other things that we didn't even get to play with. It was perfect for her and she could have spent the entire day there. She loved the play house and identified one of the baby dolls as her own and was quite protective of it. I'm not exactly sure why, but she thought that the baby belonged in the mail box and spent the longest time trying to stuff it in. I would love to know what is going through her mind sometimes. We were all so tired after leaving the museum that we went back to my Aunt's house and took naps.
That evening we went to Buca di Beppo's and we got to sit at a table that was located in the kitchen. We could see them cooking and each waiter would bring the food by our table to let us look at each entree. We had a very tasty dinner and had mini ice cream cones for dessert. I ordered a vanilla cone for Julianne, but she had other ideas. As soon as she saw that my mom had ordered chocolate she quickly stole that cone and demolished it.
On Wednesday we had a delicious brunch at the Original Pancake House and then hit up the Trader's Point Creamery for some ice cream. Before Julianne and I left that afternoon we watched High School Musical (I know I am a little late to just be watching the first one, but it never appealed to me before). Not only did I enjoy it, but Julianne actually sat and watched it. My cousin, Mady started singing and dancing to it, so Julianne joined in too. It was funny to watch. I guess we'll have to watch the sequels too.
Jumping(or falling) in the pool to Mimi
Mady and Melissa
Mady and Julianne getting ready to go down the slide
Trying to take off the goggles that mommy just put on me in order to take a picture
Digging for fossils without goggles - much happier
Julianne and Mady with the dinosaur eggs
The cutest baby dinosaur I've ever seen
Riding a dinosaur - She kept wanting to ride all of the big dinosaurs, but had to settle for the miniature one
My mom and Aunt Melissa pushing my Grandma up one of the many ramps
Playing in the water
Riding on an airplane
Such a sweet little mommy
Stuffing the baby in the mailbox - not a sweet little mommy moment
Chowing down on Mimi's chocolate cone - She really did enjoy it despite the serious face
Maybe she'll be in High School Musical 4
