Valentine's Tea Party
Even though it is a couple of days until Valentine's Day, we've been celebrating in "school" all week. We have been learning that since God loves us we should love others. One day we completed a writing activity in which we completed the phrase, "I can love others by...". With no help from me, other than writing down her responses, Julianne came up with this list: "washing dishes", "giving them ice cream", "giving them hot dogs", "giving them books", sharing baby dolls with them", and "giving them a band aid when they get hurt". I was pretty impressed with her answers and look forward to seeing them in action! To wrap up this theme I planned a Valentine's Tea Party for Julianne and her friend Shiloh. On Thursday the girls and I made cupcakes, chocolate covered strawberries, and chocolate covered pretzels. Then on Friday just before lunch the Julianne and Shiloh dressed in their best attire (from the dress up box) and attended a wonderful Valentine's Tea Party. The menu included heart shaped peanut butter and jelly sandwiches, strawberries, and chocolate covered pretzels, and of course tea (actually pink lemonade). A delicious dessert of chocolate cupcakes followed. Both girls had a blast and Lorelei even joined in a bit! We hope you have a very happy Valentine's Day!
