The Zoo in December
One of the joys of having a zoo membership is that we can go whenever we want, including an unseasonably warm day in December, which is what happened this past week. The days leading up and following this warm day were freezing, but one day this past week the temperature got up in the sixties, so the girls and I decided to head to the zoo with our long sleeves and light jackets. There was practically no one at the zoo and the animals were especially active so we all enjoyed ourselves. Lorelei has learned to say "muh-kee" (monkey), "macaw", "eh-luh" (elephant), "rah" (giraffe), "yee-muh" (lemur), "beh" (bear)and "tie-uh" (tiger). Monkeys, by far, are her favorite animal or at least her favorite animal to say. She also enjoyed roaring or saying "e-e-ah-ah" at most of the animals. It was a blessing to be able to get out of the house and enjoy some time together!
Climbling on a buffalo
Climbing on a rhino
Watching the giraffes
Eating lunch outisde
Julianne was walking like some kind of animal
Watching the gorillas, who were throwing their food around. Julianne kept saying that they needed to mind their manners and Lorelei kept saying "uh-oh"
Watching the playful bears
The penguins were pretty playful
